CASE #: 2017-3515
On Monday, 07-03-2017, at approximately 3:30 pm, Gage County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to an assault in Blue Springs, Nebraska. A 34-year-old female reported to deputies that her brother, 28-year-old Dennis Burr, had been chasing her around Wymore and Blue Springs threatening to assault and kill her.
At around 3:30 pm, the victim alleges her brother began pounding on the window of her vehicle while she was parked at a house in Blue Springs. She also had in her vehicle the ex-girlfriend of Dennis Burr, and her own three-year-old daughter. She stated that she drove away because she feared for her safety and the safety of her passengers. When she stopped for the stop sign at Walnut and Highway 77, she said Dennis Burr intentionally rammed the rear of her vehicle, a Ford Focus, with his GMC Yukon and tried to push her vehicle out into traffic on Highway 77.
He then fled the scene and did not report the incident.
An investigator and deputies interviewed the victim and witnesses as they were being treated by ambulance crews from the Beatrice Fire Department and the Wymore Volunteer Fire Department. The victim was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital Emergency Department where she was treated by nurses and doctors and later released.
Investigators requested a warrant for the arrest of Dennis Burr and one was issued by the courts. On Friday, July 14, 2017 a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol stopped Dennis’ Burr in the GMC Yukon near Blue Springs and arrested him on the Gage County warrant.
