2nd Degree Domestic Assault and Protection Order Violation

DATE & TIME: 06-02-2018 / 1700

LOCATION: Blue Springs and Wymore

OFFENSE: 2nd Degree Domestic Assault and Protection Order Violation

CASE #: 2018-2669

Deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Jaime Harvey of Beatrice on Saturday, 06-02-2018 after a female called the sheriff’s office to report she had been in a car with him, driving in Wymore they started arguing, and he began hitting her. She then tried to get out of the car, but he continued driving, turning off into Blue Springs and was still hitting her in the face. When she tried to call for help on a cellphone, they struggled over the cellphone and when it dropped to the floor of the car, the female tried to get out of the car, but Jaime grabbed her shirt and tried to pull her back into the car. The door closed on her shirt and Jaime Harvey drove off. The victim’s clothing became ensnared on the car and Jaime continued driving, dragging the female beside the car for a short distance. Her top was ripped off during the incident and she was no longer being dragged by the vehicle, however as she tried to walk to a neighboring farmhouse for assistance, the victim heard the tires on the vehicle spinning and saw Jaime Harvey turn the vehicle around and accelerate toward her. She was able to get onto the farmhouse yard and contacted the homeowner for assistance.

The investigating deputy observed injuries to the victim’s face consistent with being struck in the face and abrasions, colloquially referred to as “road rash”, on the left side of her body. Another deputy located Jaime Harvey later that evening in Beatrice and, after confirming there was a valid protection order against Jaime Harvey on this victim, placed him under arrest for Violating a Domestic Assault Protection Order. Jaime Harvey was booked into the Gage County jail for the protection order violation charge.

A Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator conducting follow-up investigation located an independent witness to the incident who corroborated the account of the victim. The investigator then met with the victim and the Gage County Victim Advocate, collected evidence and arrested Jaime Harvey for 2nd Degree Domestic Assault for injuring the victim with the vehicle.
