3 Vehicle Injury Accident

DATE & TIME:  6/16/2018 @ 1700 hours                    

LOCATION: Hwy 41 at SW 114th Rd   

OFFENSE: 3 Vehicle Injury Accident     

CASE #: 2018-2969

On the above listed date and time Gage County Deputies responded to a three vehicle injury accident.  Jack Bursovsky, 28 years old of Filley was traveling eastbound on Hwy 41 approaching  SW 114th Rd, driving a 1998 GMC pickup. Bursovsky was slowing down to turn north onto SW 114th Rd. Patrick Brestel, 38 years old from Lincoln was following Bursovsky, driving a 2013 Ford F150. Amy Rezny, 43 years old from Wilbur, driving a 1999 Chrysler Van, was behind Brestel. It was determined during the investigation that Rezny failed to slow down for the two vehicles in front of her and struck the 2013 Ford pickup and then struck the 1998 GMC pickup before coming to a stop.

Brestel had one passenger in the vehicle, neither occupant reported an injury. Rezny had two other occupants in her vehicle, neither occupant reported an injury. Rezny sustained a non-life threatening injury. Rezny was flown by StarCare to Bryan West for treatment.

Airbags did deploy in the 1999 Chrysler Van.  Seatbelts were in use by all occupants.  Alcohol was not a factor in this accident.

Other agencies responding to the accident were Clatonia Rescue, Cortland Rescue, and StarCare.
