Accident With Injuries

On August 28, 2019 deputies of the Gage County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle accident at  S 66rd and US Hwy 8. The initial report was that a vehicle had struck a cow on the roadway.

Further investigation revealed a west bound vehicle, driven by Carol Cunningham of Barneston NE, had topped the hill and collided with 2 cows on the roadway. The impact disabled her vehicle in the east bound lane. An east bound vehicle, driven by Lori Barr of Liberty, NE, did not see the black cow lying on the roadway, thus striking that cow and then striking the blacked out disabled vehicle. Both vehicles are a total loss.

Drivers were transported to the Beatrice community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor. Wymore Fire and Rescue assisted at the accident scene.
