On March 17, 2016, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office conducted alcohol compliance checks at businesses in Gage County outside the city limits of Beatrice, which dispense alcohol. The program is funded by M.A.P.S. (Multiple Agencies Partnering for Success). During the checks, 20 businesses were checked using a minor who attempted to purchase alcohol from the establishments. Three businesses were found not to be in compliance and sold alcohol to the minor. The businesses which sold alcohol to the minors and were cited include, R and D Liquor in Wymore, Wymore Express in Wymore and Homestead Truck Plaza which is located just north of Beatrice on US Highway 77.

The goal of the compliance checks is to ensure all businesses are complying with the liquor laws in the State of Nebraska and overall public safety.
