Arrest on Federal Warrant

On Tuesday, 05-26-2020, a federal probation officer contacted a Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator to report that Brandon Taquone Byrd had a federal warrant for his arrest and that he was scheduled to appear in the County Court of Gage County at 9:00 that morning.

The investigator responded to the third floor of the courthouse and contacted the special services sergeant, informing him of the warrant. Mr. Byrd arrived a couple minutes later and after his court appearance, he was taken into custody outside the courtroom by the investigator and the special services sergeant. He was then transported to the Gage County Detention Center by a Gage County corrections officer. The United States Marshal’s Service was contacted to arrange Mr. Byrd’s transfer to federal custody after he was booked into the jail.

Mr. Byrd was making his initial appearance in Gage County court for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver related to an arrest in April by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
