DATE & TIME: 03/11/18, 0413 hrs.

LOCATION: 27522 SW 32nd Rd.

OFFENSE: Attempted Murder, Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, Second Degree Assault, Terroristic Threats.

CASE #: 2018-1005

On March 11, 2018 at approximately 0413 hours, the Gage County Sheriff Office was dispatched to 27522 Southwest 32nd Road for a report of a shooting.  Members of the Gage County Sheriff’s and Beatrice Police Department responded to the scene. Deputies located multiple people standing on the porch.  The victim of the shooting, Boston Bieler, age 23 of Beatrice, was lying on the front porch with a serious injury to his neck. Bieler was bleeding from the back of his neck and a female subject was holding his head and applying a towel to the wounded area.

Beatrice Fire and Rescue treated Bieler at the scene and then transported him to Bryan LGH West for further medical treatment.  Bieler is currently in critical condition with a severe injury to his neck and spinal cord.

The investigation determined that the resident of 27522 SW 32nd Rd., identified as Nathan King, age 32 of Beatrice, got into an argument with Bieler on the porch of the residence.  During the argument, it is believed that King threatened Bieler with a handgun and then King went back into his residence and soon thereafter fired one shot from a handgun through his front door, striking Bieler who then fell to the ground.

King was located at the scene and placed into custody. King was transported to the Gage County Detention Center where he was lodged for Attempted Murder, 2nd Degree Assault, Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Terroristic Threats.

The crime scene was processed and additional items of evidence were collected. The investigation is ongoing.
