Burglary in Progress results in Arrests

DATE & TIME: October 19, 2016 at 0232 Hours        

LOCATION: 300 Peoria Street; Filley

OFFENSE:  Burglary §28-507            

CASE #: 2016-5628               

On October 19, 2016 at 0232 hours the Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Burglary in progress at 300 Peoria Street in Filley, Nebraska. The call to 911/Southeast Communications indicated that no one was to be on the property, and that a male and female were observed taking items from the residence and placing them in the bed of their pickup.    

Deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop on the pickup, which was a 1988 Ford F-150, at Main Street and Highway 136 in Filley. The female subject was identified as Terry Harris, age 56 of Beatrice, and the male subject was identified as Derek Reno, age 28 of Lincoln. The truck had several items located in the bed of the truck.

The patrol supervisor for the Gage County Sheriff’s Office contacted the home and property owner, who was not in the home at the time of the burglary, and the items in the bed of the pickup were identified as belonging to the resident of the home.

Harris and Reno were arrested for Burglary and transported to the Gage County Detention Center.
