Car Fire on Highway 77 1/4 mile South of Pickrell Road

LOCATION: Hwy 77 ¼ South of Pickrell Road (South-Lanes)

On Tuesday 02-28-17 at approximately 8:23 am, 65-year-old Lorraine A. Pacha of Lincoln, Nebraska was driving south on State Hwy 77 at Pickrell Road.  

Ms. Pacha was driving a 1990 Toyota Corolla four door.  Ms. Pacha stated that she heard a popping sound and pulled off onto the shoulder.  Shortly after pulling over the engine stopped running and she saw smoke and fire coming out from under the hood.  

The Pickrell Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the fire.  Neither Ms. Pacha nor any of the animals traveling with her were injured.

A Gage County Deputy Sheriff responded to assist and investigate.
