Charges filed after two injured at party

OFFENSES: Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Assault – 3^rd Degree, Criminal Mischief

Five people have been issued criminal citations following an investigation into a fight and disturbance that occurred at a large party involving minors consuming alcohol.  The party occurred at a residence outside of Blue Springs on November 26-27, 2016.  The incident was reported to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office after two people from the party arrived at the Beatrice Community Hospital and reported injuries sustained while at the party. 

The following people are facing criminal charges:

Elizabeth Shotkoski-Jurgens, age 57, of 34998 S. 66^th Rd., Blue Springs, was cited for two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor due to hosting the party and being present at the party while minors were consuming alcohol on her property. 

Jordan Jurgens, age 19, and also of 34998 S. 66^th Rd., Blue Springs, was also cited for two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor due to hosting the party and being present at the party while minors were consuming alcohol.

Derek Veerhusen, age 20 of Adams, was cited for 3^rd Degree Assault after he and Jacob Buhr, age 20 of Holmesville, were involved in the assault of another male while at the party.  Buhr was also cited for 3^rd Degree Assault.

Devan Baehr, age 23 of Blue Springs, was cited for Criminal Mischief after damaging a side mirror to a vehicle at the party.
