OFFENSE: Flight to Avoid Arrest and Driving Under the Influence

CASE #: 2016-2410

On Friday May 13, 2016, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle pursuit. At approximately 0103 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible intoxicated driver who was driving to Pickrell, Nebraska.

Deputies located the vehicle, a gold 2002 Chevy Tahoe, traveling north on North 19th Street just south of Dorsey Street at a high rate of speed. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on South 1st Road near Juniper Road. The vehicle failed to stop for the deputy and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle turned east on to East Hickory Road and continued passed South 10th Road. As the vehicle passed South 10th Road on East Hickory Road, the driver lost control of their vehicle causing it to roll over multiple times.  The driver was ejected from the vehicle when the vehicle rolled. The deputy involved in the pursuit was also involved in a minor accident, but was not injured, and the vehicle he was driving sustained minor damage.

The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe was identified as 21 year old Dalton Vivier of Calvin, Oklahoma. Vivier was transported to Bryan LGH West by Beatrice Fire and Rescue with unknown injuries.  Beatrice Rural Fire also responded to the scene. The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the accident.

Charges are currently pending and the case is being investigated by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol.
