OFFENSE: Fraud/ Counterfeit Currency

The manager at Casey’s General Store in Wymore contacted a Gage County Deputy Sheriff and turned over a counterfeit ten dollar bill they had received on Sunday, 01-14-2018, between 6:00 pm and closing at midnight.
The deputy turned the case over to a Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator who is working with the management at Casey’s in reviewing surveillance video and interviewing the employee who was working that night.
At this time, this is an isolated incident, however businesses and residents are urged to double check on the validity of currency they receive, as well as verifying checks and credit cards they accept. Anyone with any information on this or other cases of fraud or possession of counterfeit currency can contact their local police department or call the Gage County Sheriff’ Office and speak with an investigator.
