A resident of rural Odell called the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and reported to an investigator that he had been contacted by a collection agency regarding a cell phone bill for an account opened in June of 2019, but he did not open, have any knowledge of, or any connection to. The collection agency did not have any correct information on him related to the account and after further evaluation, advised him to make a report to law enforcement for identity theft. The phone account was opened online and there is not a store location in Beatrice or Gage County
