DATE & TIME:  11-11-17 @ 2149 hrs

LOCATION:   Hwy 77,  North of Elm Road

OFFENSE:  Injury Accident

CASE #:  2017-6184

On 11-11-17 at approximately 2149 hrs, Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle injury accident on Hwy 77, north of Elm Road. An investigation conducted at the scene indicated that a silver 2007 Chrysler Town and County sport van, driven by 45 year old William Heard of Wymore NE, was traveling southbound on Hwy 77 when the vehicle drove off of the left side of the roadway and struck a sign in the median. The vehicle then skidded across the roadway and entered the west ditch, where it rolled over one time. A female passenger of the vehicle was transported by ground ambulance to Beatrice Community Hospital for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Occupant restraints were in use. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been a factor. Driver fatigue might have contributed to the cause.
