On Friday, November 20, 2015 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Kylee Schoen was driving westbound in a silver 2014 Chrysler Town and Country minivan on Hickory Road approaching South 41st Road. As her vehicle crested a small hill, she saw a herd of deer standing in the middle of the roadway. Mrs. Schoen was able to free herself from the vehicle and climb up the embankment of the ravine and notify the Gage County Sheriff’s Office. Mrs. Schoen suffered minor injuries to her chest. She declined an ambulance and was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital by her husband, who had arrived at the scene.
