Injury Accident

On 01-08-2020 at 2002 hrs. Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident on W Scott Rd. near SW 61^st Road. An investigation conducted at the scene indicated that a silver 2004 Dodge Status, driven by 16-year-old Destiny Phothirath of Beatrice, was traveling eastbound on W Scott Rd. when it passed through a section of “fresh rock” on the roadway. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to enter the south ditch. The vehicle then began to exit the ditch, at which point it flipped onto its top.

Ms. Phothirath was transported from the scene by ground ambulance for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Occupant protection is believed to have not been in use. There was no airbag deployment. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor.
