Injury Accident at E Hickory Road & South 10th Road

On Thursday Jan 28^th 2016 at 1650 hours, Deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the intersection of E Hickory Road and S 10^th Road reference a two car personal injury accident. Beatrice Fire & Rescue and Pickrell Fire & Rescue were also on scene.

Elaine Korus, 58 of Beatrice, NE was traveling east on E Hickory Rd when her vehicle was broadsided by a southbound vehicle. The collision caused Mrs. Korus’ vehicle to veer into the southeast ditch of the intersection. Mrs. Korus was transported by Beatrice Fire & Rescue to Beatrice Community Hospital.

Ronald Cornelius, 21 of Pickrell, NE was traveling South on S 10^th Rd when he broadsided Mrs. Korus’ vehicle causing extensive damage to the front of his vehicle. Mr. Cornelius refused treatment.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to have contributed to the accident.
