One person injured in a two-vehicle accident at E. Spruce Road and US Highway 77, Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, June 01, 2016 at approximately 1555 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Wymore Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Beatrice Rescue and Star Care were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of E. Spruce Road and US Highway 77.
The accident investigation revealed an eastbound 1997 Grain Truck driven by Dalton Trauernicht, 17 of Wymore, had stopped at the stop sign at US Highway 77, then proceeded east across US Highway 77 failing to yield to a northbound 2001 GMC Pickup driven by Brad Tennant, 56 of Wymore. After colliding in the intersection, Trauernicht’s truck came to rest on its wheels in the south ditch of Spruce Road, while Tennant’s vehicle came to rest in the northbound lane of US Highway 77.
Tennant was transported to Bryan Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, while Trauernicht reported no injuries.
Restraints in use. Both passenger and driver side airbags deployed in Tennant’s vehicle. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident
