Injury accident, DUI

DATE & TIME:  08-02-20 0226 am      

LOCATION:  Hwy 8 and Hwy 112 N.

OFFENSE:  Injury accident, DUI

On 08-02-20 at 0226 hrs. Odell QRTs, Wymore Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Hwy 8 and Hwy 112 N. An investigation conducted at the scene indicated that a silver 2013 Chevrolet Cruz, driven by 32-year-old Glenn Breeden of Diller NE., was traveling eastbound on Hwy 8 and was approaching Hwy 112. For an unknown reason, the vehicle began to skid and rotate counter clockwise. It entered the north ditch of Hwy 8 and then struck the west ditch embankment for Hwy 112. The vehicle then rolled over and came to rest on its top in the east ditch of Hwy 112. A 35-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was injured and was transported to Bryan LGH west by air ambulance. The severity of the passenger’s injuries are unknown at this time.  

Mr. Breeden was placed under arrest for failure to submit to a preliminary breath test, Failure to submit to a chemical test and Driving under the influence of alcoholic liquor or drugs; serious bodily injury,

Occupant restraints are not believed to have been in use. There were airbag deployments. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
