OFFENSE: One Vehicle Injury Accident

CASE #: 2017-3485

On July 1, 2017 at approximately 1941 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s along with Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Wymore Fire, Odell QRTs, and Star Care Helicopter responded to a one vehicle injury accident on Sage Road between SW 105th and SW 117th Road. Through investigation it was determined that a blue 2001 Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on Sage Road between SW 105th and SW 117th Road when it lost control in the roadway and traveled into the south ditch on Sage Road. The vehicle continued through the ditch and down an embankment where it came to rest in a dry creek bed. Another vehicle was traveling westbound and noticed the skid marks in the roadway leading to the ditch. The driver of that vehicle then located the Silverado and observed the driver to be unconscious and then called 911.

The driver of the Silverado was identified as 62 year old Ronald Dux of Beatrice. The airbags of the Silverado deployed and it is unknown if a seatbelt was used. Extrication tools were used by Wymore Fire in order to remove Dux from the vehicle. Dux was then life-flighted to Bryan West hospital in Lincoln by Star Care for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the accident. The accident is still under investigation by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
