Injury Accident 1/4 Mile South of Highway 41 on Hwy 77

DATE & TIME: May 6, 2017 at 0640 hours               

LOCATION: ¼ mile South of Hwy 41 West junction on Highway 77                                   

OFFENSE: Injury accident                  

CASE #: 2017-2330 

              

On the above date and time, Gage County deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle rollover accident. Jesse McMorris, a 22 year old male from Lincoln, NE, was driving a 2004 F250 pickup southbound Highway 77.  It was determined that the vehicle went into a skid for unknown reasons and left the roadway entering the west ditch.  The vehicle struck a small embankment causing it to roll several times and come to final rest on its side.  McMorris was trapped inside the vehicle causing the rescue personnel to use extraction equipment to free him from the vehicle.  McMorris sustained injuries from the accident and was flown to Bryan West in Lincoln.  His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

 

McMorris was wearing a seatbelt, however airbags did not deploy. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

 

Other agencies involved in assisting the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were Cortland Fire and Rescue, Clatonia Fire and Rescue, Lincoln Fire and Rescue, StarCare, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
