Inmate Mail

All incoming mail shall be addressed to the inmate as follows:

All incoming mail will be inspected for contraband, stamps, cash, checks, money orders or other types of contraband.

United States postal money orders are the only money orders which will be credited to the inmate's account. 

All money from the cashing of U.S. Postal money orders may be held for ten days to ensure the money order clears.

All cash will be placed on the inmate's account.

All other types of money orders will be placed into the inmate's personal property.  All other checks will be placed into the inmate's personal property.

No personal checks will be accepted for deposit into the inmate's account and if received will be placed into the inmate's personal property.

Inmates are allowed to retain six personal photos in their possession.  Photos sent in through the mail will not be larger than 4x6.  Any photos larger will be placed in the inmate's personal property.  Photos of explicit nature or which may affect safety and security will be rejected.

All publications, including but not limited to, newspapers, magazines, soft-back books, paperbacks, and hardbound books must be prepaid and sent to the inmate directly from the publisher.  Such items shall be received in envelopes or packages which display a commercially printed or stamped return address.  An invoice/shipping document showing items have been pre-paid must be included.

The facility may remove and discard nuisance contraband (including inserts such as newspaper clippings) contained within 3rd class mail.
