Jail Incident

DATE & TIME:  05/21/2015   2300 hours

LOCATION:  Gage County Sheriff’s Office

OFFENSE:   Jail Incident

On Thursday May 21, 2015 at approximately 2300 hours, Correctional Officers responded to an incident and observed an inmate in his cell attempting to harm himself by using a sheet tied to the bars of his cell.  Officers cut him down and began CPR. Approximately 30 seconds after starting CPR, the inmate regained consciousness.

Deputies, Beatrice Police Officers and Beatrice Fire and Rescue responded to assist. He was transported by ambulance to the Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Lincoln for further follow-up.  He is scheduled to be released from the hospital later today.
