Motor Vehicle Accident

On 04/01/20 at approximately 7:34 PM Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, and Beatrice Rural Fire were dispatched to a one-vehicle rollover accident near S. 10^th Rd. and E. Maple Rd.  The investigation determined that Destinie Thomas, age 19 of Manhattan, KS was driving southbound on S. 10^th Rd. just south of E. Maple Rd. when she lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons. The vehicle slid into the ditch on the east side of the road and struck an embankment. The vehicle then overturned an unknown number of times, which caused the front seat passenger to be ejected from the vehicle. The passenger who was ejected was not wearing a seat belt, while the other two occupants were wearing seatbelts. A total of three occupants were in the vehicle and all three occupants were transported to either Beatrice Community Hospital or Bryan LGH in Lincoln, NE for medical treatment.  None of the injuries were believed to be life threatening. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the accident. It is unknown if speed was a factor in the accident. The Nebraska State Patrol also assisted with the accident investigation.
