OFFENSE: National Drug Take Back Event
On Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 1000-1400 hours, The Gage County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the National Drug Take-Back program sponsored by the DEA and our local MAPS program. During this time, local Law Enforcement will be posted at the Gage County Sheriff's Office and collecting any and all unwanted and/or unused medication. Anyone wishing to participate will be able to drive up to the far-east garage at the Gage County Sheriff's Office where they will be met by a Deputy who will collect the medication you wish to get disposed of properly.
As a reminder, The Gage County Sheriff’s Office has also installed a 24/7 drop box in the lobby at the Sheriff’s Office. The drop box is available 24 hours a day for anyone wishing to use this method of disposing their unwanted/unused or expired prescription medication. Anyone wishing to use the drop box at the Sheriff’s Office between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 AM Monday thru Friday or Saturday or Sunday need to ring the door bell and a corrections officer will let you into the lobby to utilize the drop box. Just inform the Corrections Officer during these times that you wish to utilize the Drug Take-Back Drop Box.
With prescription medication abuse in the community becoming a growing epidemic, these programs are extremely important to help dispose of medication that could possibly take a loved one’s life. Remember, many addicts start their addiction right from the medicine cabinet in their loved ones home.
We want to thank everyone in advance who participates in these programs and helps us fight prescription drug abuse in the community.
