National Drug Take Back Program

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office had a successful operation in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) National Drug Take Back program on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Deputies collected 56.8 pounds of unneeded or expired medications during the Drug Take Back event on October 26th. Deputies were present at the sheriff’s office to collect the items from residents of Gage County. An additional 79 pounds of unused or expired medications were collected the day before from the permanent drug take back collection boxes, which are in the lobby of the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and on the ground floor of the Gage County Courthouse.

These medications will then be sent to the Drug Enforcement Administration for safe disposal.

Thank you to all residents for their cooperation and participation. A combined total of 135.8 pounds was collected for safe disposal.
