Two Vehicle Injury Accident at Highway 77 & Locust Road

DATE & TIME:  09-18-15 0650 hours 

LOCATION:  Highway 77 and Locust Road 

OFFENSE: Injury Accident        

CASE #: 2015-4585              

 On 09-18-15 at 0650 hours, Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a two vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Highway 77 and Locust Road.

 An investigation conducted at the scene indicated that a maroon 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 14 year old Todd Moore of rural Beatrice, was traveling eastbound on Locust Road. The pickup truck entered the intersection and began to turn north on to Highway 77 when it was struck by a red 1999 Peterbilt tractor driven by 42 year old Sidney Vitosh of Odell, traveling southbound on Highway 77.

Due to his injuries, Mr. Moore was transported to Bryan LGH West by air ambulance.

Both drivers were using occupant restraints and the airbags in Mr. Moore’s vehicle did deploy.

Neither drugs or alcohol are believed to have been a factor.
