One person injured in a rollover accident on Nebraska State Highway 43 near E. Ash Road, Friday morning.
On Friday, January 18, 2019, at approximately 06:35 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, along with Adams Fire & Rescue and Cortland Fire, where dispatched to a rollover injury accident near E. Ash Road on Nebraska Highway 43.
The accident investigation revealed, a northbound 1997 Jeep, driven by Jessica Ashby, of Lincoln, hit a patch of black ice while passing a northbound semi. Her vehicle left the roadway entering the west ditch where it rolled, struck an embankment, then rolled onto and came to rest on the passenger’s side.
Ashby was transported to Bryan Medical Center by Adams Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lap and shoulder restraints not in use. No airbags deployed. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident.
