One Vehicle Injury Accident

LOCATION: SW 18^th RD & West State Line RD          

OFFENSE: One vehicle injury accident

On 05/20/19 at approximately 12:30 P.M., Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies, responded to a report of a one vehicle injury accident near the intersection of SW 18^th Road and West State Line Road. When deputies arrived, they observed a tan Oldsmobile Alero in the field that had struck a tree. Further investigation showed that Alecia May, 24 years of age, of Beatrice, NE, was the driver who was learning to drive with the help of her passenger Anthony Auman, 41 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. Auman is the owner of the vehicle. While May was traveling around a curve, she lost control of the vehicle and spun out of control causing the vehicle to enter a ditch and strike a tree. May provided her valid learners permit at the scene. Both May and Auman were transported to the Beatrice Community Hospital for minor injuries by Beatrice Fire and Rescue. Both May and Auman were wearing seatbelts and no citations were issued.
