On September 26, 2019 at approximately 7:10 AM the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, along with assistance from the Beatrice Police Dept., executed a search warrant for illegal drugs at 921 Herbert St. in Beatrice. The search warrant was part of an ongoing drug investigation. Following the search of the residence, Arica N. Lovell, age 34 of Beatrice, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance after a glass meth pipe was located in the room where Lovell was sleeping. The residue in the pipe pre-tested positive for methamphetamine. Also located in the same room was a prescription pill bottle with a scratched off label. Inside of the bottle were 8 pills that were identified as a Legend Drug and no prescription for the medication was located. Lovell was lodged in the Gage County Detention Center.  Another resident, Timothy Schutte, was cited/released for Possession of Marijuana, Less than 1 oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
