Recovered Missing Juvenile

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office received a call to report a missing juvenile who was under fifteen years old. Responding deputies met with the family, obtained evidence at the scene and had Southeast Communications request a location search of a cell phone associated with the juvenile. The search indicated the cell phone was in the area of north Omaha. 

The deputies enlisted the assistance of a Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator and an expedient download of a cell phone and culling of the juvenile’s social media accounts resulted in the identification of a possible suspect.

Early in the investigation, the Gage County investigator had contacted an investigator with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and advised him Gage County Sheriff’s Office would be needing his assistance.  Once the suspect name and address had been identified, the information and address were forwarded to the Douglas County investigator who located the missing juvenile at the residence of the 20-year-old male suspect. The male was arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for sexual assault and the juvenile was reunited with family that evening.
