Roll Over Motor Vehicle Accident

DATE & TIME:  November 27, 2019 @ 0515 hrs

LOCATION:  1.5 north of Cortland, Nebraska on HWY 77 into Lancaster County                      

OFFENSE:   Roll Over MVA

On the early morning hours of November 27, 2019, The Gage County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a roll-over MVA 1.5 miles north of Cortland Nebraska. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office advised that they did not have any Deputies in the area and requested that the Gage County Sheriff’s Office assist with the accident.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded and located a 2008 Black Dodge Pickup in the east ditch on its side. The Cortland Fire Department and Rescue were on scene. The driver, Terry L Briggs, 62, of Beatrice and his passenger were not injured in the accident. Road conditions at the time of the accident were very icy. The vehicle lost control on the icy road surface and went into the east ditch then rolled onto its driver’s side.

Seat belts were in operation which contributed to no injuries.
