On Monday March 6th, 2017 Deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and Beatrice Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the area of S 36th Road and Belvidere Road in reference to a one vehicle injury accident.

An investigation determined that the driver of the red Lincoln Mark VIII, Tobi Hinkle, age 20 of Holmesville, was driving south on S 36th Road.  He was distracted by his cell phone which caused him to drift to the left, drive off the road, roll the vehicle, and come to rest in the east ditch.

Tobi Hinkle was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital by Beatrice Rescue with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as contributing factors to the accident.  Seatbelt was being used and both air bags did deploy.
