On 12-21-2020 around 1800 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a potential scam which occurred in Blue Springs, NE.

The victim received a call from an unfamiliar number. The caller claimed to be with Dish Network and was updating the network. The caller asked a few questions and asked for the PIN number to the account. After receiving the PIN, the caller demanded a $200 payment or the Dish Network account would be locked.

The victim quickly realized this was a scam, and no fraud or theft was consummated. However, residents should be aware of this scam and report any similar activity.
