A Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator was notified by relatives of a senior citizen in Beatrice that she had been contacted over the telephone by a man who claimed he was from Medicare and would be in Beatrice on Monday, 03-12-2018, to have her fill out paperwork for her insurance. The relative stated the victim did not lose any money or provide any personal, financial, or confidential information to the suspect.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator notified investigators for the Beatrice Police Department about the report for their case files.

Anyone receiving a suspicious phone call, e-mail, letter, or personal contact should notify a family member, trusted associate or professional, such as their banker, or contact the local police department or call the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and speak with an investigator.
