DATE & TIME: August 22, 2016

LOCATION: 1201 Monroe St.; Beatrice

OFFENSE: Search Warrant, Illegal Drug Investigation, Arrest Warrant

CASE #: 2016-4335

On 08/21/16 at approximately 2203 hours, a Gage County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a vehicle on the south side of Beatrice.  The deputy recognized the vehicle as being owned by Jarod R. Hicks, who had an active felony warrant for his arrest.  The deputy lost sight of the vehicle, but located it a few minutes later after it pulled into the garage at 1201 Monroe St., which was a residence where Hicks was known to frequent.

Deputies and officers from the Beatrice Police Department attempted to make contact at the residence and in the process, smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence.  A search warrant was obtained for the residence and Jarod Hicks, age 30, was located hiding inside where he was placed under arrest for his active arrest warrant.

Several items consistent with the use of methamphetamine were also recovered from the residence.  The investigation continues.
