On 03/21/18 at approximately 6:30 PM Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with assistance from the Beatrice Police Dept., executed a search warrant at 910 Grant St. in Beatrice. The search warrant was part of a joint investigation being conducted by the sheriff’s office and Beatrice Police Department relating to marijuana distribution. During the execution of the search warrant, Armando Lerma, age 38 of Beatrice, was taken into custody and found in possession of $10,495 in cash, which is suspected profits from illegal drug distribution. During the search of Lerma’s residence deputies located four separate baggies of marijuana with a total weight of 389 grams (0.85 lb.), a heat-sealing machine, a small amount of methamphetamine, a digital scale, 5 jars of suspected mushroom spores along with numerous items believed to be used to grow psilocybin mushrooms. Also located was a machete, a capsule of suspected Vyvanse, approximately 10 mg of suspected anabolic steroids, a home surveillance camera system, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
Cherish Lovell, age 27, of Wymore was also located at the residence. Lovell had an active felony warrant from Lancaster County and she was also placed into custody. Both Lerma and Lovell were lodged in the Gage County Detention Center. Lerma was booked on the following charges:
