Selective Traffic Enforcement in Cortland

OFFENSE:  Selective Traffic Enforcement in Cortland, June 9 - June 22 ,2019

The Gage County Sheriff's Office was awarded a grant from the Nebraska Department of Roads Highway Safety Administration to conduct selective traffic enforcement on Highway 77 in the Cortland area from June 9-June 22, 2019. The purpose of the grant was to reduce accidents, educate the driving public, and provide safer roads and highways through enforcement of traffic laws in the area.

Four Gage County Deputies participated in this selective for a total of 24.25 hours. Deputies issued 36 warnings, 2 equipment repairs, 3 citations, and responded to one accident.

This grant from the Nebraska Department of Roads Highway Safety Administration reimburses the Gage County Sheriff's Office for the overtime salaries of deputies participating in the enforcement effort.
