Sex Offender Registration Act Warrant Arrest

On 03-01-2019 investigators from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a felony warrant from Gage County for violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act (SORA) being issued for 32-year-old Jared Austin Eppens of Beatrice.

The investigator and the special services sergeant from the courthouse went to 710 Lincoln Street and heard a male and female inside the apartment. They made contact with the female resident at that address who told them Jared had just left the residence. However, while checking the residence, the special services sergeant located Eppens standing in a closet in a spare room. He was standing behind the clothes in the closet, however the clothes only hid the upper part of his body and his legs were visible to the sergeant.

Eppens was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Gage County Detention Center on the warrant, which had been issued after a special services deputy had completed an affidavit for arrest warrant on Eppens for the SORA violation.
