DATE & TIME: 09-05-2019 @ 05:44 am

LOCATION: 1602 North 18th Street, Beatrice

OFFENSE: Sex Offender Registration Violation / Arrest

CASE #: 2019-4709

On Thursday, September 05, 2019 Investigators from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office arrested 88-year-old Richard Earl Oehring of Beatrice on a felony charge of failure to verify his information as required by law on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.

The Nebraska State Patrol had notified the Gage County Sheriff’s Office that registered sex offender Richard Earl Oehring, a lifetime registrant on the registry, had failed to verify his information with the Gage County Sheriff’s office during August 2019. An investigator confirmed this report by double checking office files and the Nebraska State Patrol Sex Offender Registry website.

An investigator contacted Oehring by telephone and confirmed he still lived in Beatrice and arranged for Oehring to surrender himself on the felony charge. At 5:44 am on 09-05-2019 Oehring came to the sheriff’s office and surrendered to an investigator and deputy. He was booked into the Gage County Detention Center for the Sex Offender Registration Act violation.
