Single Vehicle Injury Accident, DUI

OFFENSE: Single vehicle injury accident, DUI

On 09-29-17 at 2315 hrs. Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle injury accident in the area of Hwy 4 and W Juniper Road. An investigation conducted at the scene determined that a gray 2006 Pontiac G-6, driven by 24 year old Daniel Shibley of Lincoln, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 4 when it entered the south ditch of the roadway. The vehicle then crossed back over Hwy 4 and entered the north ditch, where it rolled an unknown number of times, coming to rest on its side. One passenger, the owner of the vehicle, 20 year old Kendra Barnts of Fairbury, was transported from the scene by ground ambulance to Bryan LGH West for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Daniel Shibley was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.

Occupant restraints were not in use. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident.
