Single Vehicle Rollover Accident

DATE & TIME: March 6, 2018 @ 0720 hours                                                

LOCATION:  ¼ mile East of SW 72^nd Rd on Hwy 41

OFFENSE: Single Vehicle Rollover Accident

CASE #: 2018-0923

On the above listed date and time the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident. The driver, 18 year old  Eastin Henkel of rural Clatonia said that he was driving his 2007 Chevy Silverado to High School when he hit a patch of ice on Hwy 41 causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed the center line entered the south ditch, struck a culvert / field drive causing the vehicle to go airborne. Once the vehicle landed it rolled at least one time before coming to rest on its top. The vehicle is believed to be a total loss.

Clatonia Rescue was also on scene. No injuries were reported on scene. The driver stated he was not wearing his seat belt.
