On Friday, 08-17-2018, an investigator from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was at Beatrice Scrap Processing investigating a felony the Sheriff’s’ Office had just arrested two males on 30 minutes earlier. The investigator noticed 28-year-old Devon Cooper had arrived at Beatrice Scrap Processing to sell some metal items.

Cooper was a suspect in a case from a few weeks earlier in which a farmer south of Beatrice had reported some items stolen and located the item the next day at Beatrice Scrap Processing. The Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigated that incident and discovered that Devon Cooper was the person who had sold the item identified by the victim to Beatrice Scrap Processing.

Devon Cooper was issued a criminal citation for theft by receiving stolen property.
