Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest on Multiple Charges

On 05/16/19 at approximately 2:11 PM a Gage County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 3^rd and Linden St. in Holmesville, NE. The driver was identified as Alan D. Murdock. The deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and located a black Springfield 9 mm handgun in the passenger area of the vehicle. The firearm was found to be stolen from a case worked by the Beatrice Police Dept. in March 2019. Murdock is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing any firearms. A small plastic baggie containing 2.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine was also located. Murdock was arrested on the above charges and lodged in the Gage County Detention Center.
