Two Vehicle Injury Accident @ Highway 77 and Highway 41 East

On May 24, 2015, at approximately 2216 Hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office along with Clatonia Rescue and Cortland QRT’s responded to the intersection of US Highway 77 and Hwy 41 East in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.

 

An investigation made at the scene determined that a 1998 Red Oldsmobile Bravada, driven by 47 year old Kelly A. Ewald of Beatrice, was traveling north on Hwy 77 approaching the intersection of Hwy 77 and Hwy 41 East, when a 2004 Bronze Buick Lesabre, driven by 87 year old Arvilla F. Noerrlinger of Beatrice, failed to yield at the intersection of Hwy 41 East and attempted to turn into the southbound lane when she was struck by Ewald.

 

Clatonia Rescue transported both parties involved to different hospitals. Noerrlinger was transported to Bryan LGH West in Lincoln and Ewald was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital, both for what appeared to be non-life threatening Injuries. Shoulder and lap belt restraints were use in both vehicles and both vehicles air bag systems did deploy.

 

Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be a contributing factor in the accident.
