Two Vehicle Injury Accident

DATE & TIME: July 4th 2018 at 1532 hours     

LOCATION: Hwy 112 at W PWF Rd  

OFFENSE: Two Vehicle Injury Accident

CASE #: 2018-3354

On the above listed date, time and location Gage County Deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle injury accident. 30 year old Thomas Glowiak  of Manhattan, Kansas was traveling southbound on Hwy 112 driving a 2007 Suzuki SUV approaching W. PWF Rd.  The 2nd vehicle was driven by Jamie Smith a 29 year old from Fairbury, driving a 1995 Jeep westbound on W. PWF approaching Hwy 112.

It was determined during the investigation that Smith failed to stop at the stop sign at Hwy 112 and was struck broadside by Glowiak’s vehicle. Both vehicles ended up in the southwest ditch and sustained heavy damage. The Jeep rolled at least one time before coming to rest.

Smith was transported to Bryan West in Lincoln with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other passengers in the vehicles. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.  Alcohol was not a factor. Other agencies responding were Wymore Fire and Rescue, Blue Springs Fire and Beatrice Rescue.
