Two vehicle injury accident

On 10/16/2019 at approximately 0745 hrs, Gage County Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Locust Road and US HWY 77 for a two-vehicle injury accident. When deputies arrived, it was found that a white 2015 Chevy pickup, driven by Michael Willet, 63 years of age of Wymore, NE, rear-ended a 2015 Dodge pickup, driven by Connie Lovell, 51 years of age of Wymore, NE.

Lovell’s vehicle was stopped on US HWY 77 facing northbound, waiting for another vehicle which was also facing northbound on US HWY 77, and making a turn westbound onto Locust RD. Willet’s vehicle, also traveling northbound on US HWY 77, rear-ended Lovell’s vehicle causing an accident. Willet was transported to the Beatrice Community Hospital by Beatrice Rescue for further assessment of non-life-threatening injuries and Lovell went to the Beatrice Community Hospital on her own for non-life-threatening injuries.

Willet was cited for Following too Closely and Careless Driving.
