Two vehicle injury accident on US Highway 77 & S Walnut Street

One person injured in a two-vehicle accident on US Highway 77 and S. Walnut Street Friday morning.

On Friday, August 4th, 2017 at approximately 6:20 a.m. the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Wymore Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Blue Springs Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Rescue were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of US Highway 77 and S. Walnut Street.

The accident investigation revealed a 2001 Chevrolet Pickup driven by Frederick Laber, 67 of Blue Springs had been southbound on S. Walnut Street, stopped at the stop sign at US Highway 77, then turned south onto US Highway 77, not yielding to a northbound 2005 Ford Focus driven by David Duplissey, 55 of Blue Springs.

Duplissey was transported to the Beatrice Community with non-life-threatening injuries, while Laber reported soreness to his left side, but refused medical at the scene.

Restraints in use.  Driver’s side airbags deployed in Duplissey’s vehicle.  Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident.
