DATE & TIME: 10-20-2016 / 1711 hours

LOCATION: 709 South 10th Street, Beatrice, Nebraska

OFFENSE: Violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act

CASE #: 2016-5508

An Investigator from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office that Edward L. Williams, a registered sex offender living in Beatrice, was working in Johnson County, but had not registered his vehicle with the Nebraska State Patrol Sex Offender Registration Unit or the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, as required by Nebraska law.

An investigation was completed and determined Edward L. Williams had a licensed motor vehicle he drove from Beatrice to Tecumseh and that he had not notified the Gage County Sheriff’s Office of the vehicle license information.

After completing the investigation a warrant was requested and issued by a judge.  The Gage County Sheriff’s Office Investigator notified a Nebraska State Patrol trooper of the warrant and vehicle description, and requested he watch for the vehicle while he was on patrol between Beatrice and Tecumseh.

The trooper located the vehicle at 709 South 10th Street in Beatrice and Edward L. Williams was arrested at that location by the Beatrice Police Department and taken to the Gage County jail.
