CASE #:  2017-0482

On 01-26-17 at approximately 11:20 p.m., the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of 7151 W Hwy 4 for a welfare check.

The reporting party indicated that their 18 year old friend, later identified as Jacob W. Pedigo of Hanover KS, had become intoxicated and aggressive at a party. They attempted to take Mr. Pedigo back to his residence and while en-route, Mr. Pedigo became agitated and took off all of his clothing, except for his underpants. When they stopped their vehicle in the area of 7151 W Hwy 4, Mr. Pedigo exited the vehicle and attempted to hide in the ditch. The friends left the area to get help to deal with Mr. Pedigo. When they returned, they were unable to locate him. Due to the weather conditions, they were concerned for Mr. Pedigo’s safety and they contacted law enforcement.

Assistance was requested from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, the Nebraska State Patrol and NSP Air Wing, Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Fire and Rescue.

At approximately 1:18 a.m., the NSP Air Wing located Mr. Pedigo down an embankment, in a wooded area, ¼ mile west of 7151 W Hwy 4, north of the roadway.

Mr. Pedigo was transported by ground ambulance to Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment for exposure.

Mr. Pedigo was cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.
